Econet Sweeps National Marketing Awards in Zimbabwe

Econet Wireless Zimbabwe has emerged as the undisputed champion at the recent National Exceptional Marketing Awards in Harare, dominating the competition by securing top honors in five prestigious categories. The awards ceremony, organized by the Marketers Association of Zimbabwe (MAZ), witnessed a gathering of hundreds of marketing professionals and industry executives. The event aimed to recognize and celebrate outstanding marketing campaigns and initiatives across various sectors.

Econet’s stellar performance was highlighted by its victories in the following categories: Best Radio Advert: Econet’s creative and compelling radio advert stood out from the competition.  Best Print Advert: The “Hallo 25” anniversary advert caught the attention of the judges, earning Econet the top spot in this category. Best social media and Digital Marketing Campaigns: Econet’s innovative digital marketing strategies demonstrated excellence and effectiveness.

Best Interactive Marketing and Gaming Experience: The company’s interactive marketing initiatives provided an exceptional user experience. Best Promotional Campaign: Econet’s promotional efforts were recognized as exemplary. Moreover, the company’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Douglas Mboweni, was honored with the prestigious Marketing Oriented CEO Award. Mrs. Tariro Muchena, General Manager Marketing at Econet, received the Champion Marketer (Executive) award, while Mr. Kudzai Muneno, Econet Brand Manager, was named Brand Manager of the Year.

The National Exceptional Marketing Awards seek to highlight outstanding brands and executives making a significant impact nationwide. As the global business landscape evolves, marketing strategies have also shifted to new focus areas, making it crucial to celebrate those brands that have managed to stand out.

Other notable winners at the event included Zimnat for the Best Outdoor Advert of the Year with their Construction House Status Branding, followed by OK Zimbabwe’s Grand Challenge. Croco Holdings and Surface Wilmar secured the third position in this category. In the digital realm, Croco Motors bagged the Best Website Award, closely followed by Zimnat, with Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe and Nyaradzo Group clinching the third spot. Customer experience excellence was acknowledged with the Nyaradzo Group receiving the Best Customer Experience Award, while OK Zimbabwe and Duly Holding Limited, along with ZB Financial Holding, were recognized as runners-up.

National Foods Limited was honored with the Best New Product or Innovation Award, edging out competitors like Old Mutual, WestProp, and Pure Oil Industries. The Best Marketing Oriented SME Award was claimed by Powerlive Zimbabwe, with Legacy Car Rental as the first runner-up, and Best Travel and ClicknPay Africa sharing the third position. Delta Beverages was named the recipient of the Best Corporate Event award, and StarFM was awarded the Best Marketing Services Supplier Award.

The National Exceptional Marketing Awards serve as a testament to the innovation and dedication of Zimbabwean businesses in the field of marketing, and they reinforce the importance of recognizing and celebrating excellence in this dynamic discipline.
