The Catholic Youth Business and Innovation Hub Exhibition debuted this Saturday at St. Canisius Parish in Harare. Youth-led businesses and innovative projects were at the forefront, showcasing their creativity and potential to drive economic growth.

Government officials including Acting President General (Retired) Dr. Constantino Chiwenga showed appreciation for youthful inventiveness at the ceremony.

Dr. Chiwenga stressed the government’s commitment to building an environment that supports young entrepreneurship along with innovative ideas.

The goal demanded sector-wide cooperation between religious organizations together with private institutions and national government bodies.

Addressing societal challenges to build a brighter future

The government continues to maintain its priorities for drug and substance abuse prevention operations because youth experience such issues frequently, according to Dr. Chiwenga.

He highlighted the Zimbabwe Multisectoral Drug and Substance Abuse Plan (2024–2030), introduced by President Emmerson Mnangagwa, as a strategic framework to prevent addiction and support rehabilitation efforts.

Dr. Chiwenga stressed that developing both a healthy community and creating progress depends on total cooperation from everyone who participates.

Through dedicated approaches toward societal problems and youth empowerment activities, the nation will achieve both Vision 2030 and National Development Strategy 1 goals.

According to ZBC News, he also praised the church for its unique role in fostering entrepreneurial skills and offering moral guidance to the youth. “Your innovative ideas and business ventures are vital contributors to our economy,” he remarked.

Funding aims to reshape youth-led initiatives

The exhibition platform received positive recognition from participating youth because it enabled connection-building while expanding their commercial prospects.

“This is a platform that has created synergies and new markets as we interact,” said one attendee. Another business owner with a mechanical specialty thanked the government for creating platforms to promote their development.

The government honored its pledge by allocating one billion Zimbabwe Gold to the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training.

The allocated funds work to strengthen youth empowerment initiatives and support the creation of novel business opportunities across the country.
