Zimbabwe’s Minister Masuka Named Best World Minister in Dubai

Dr. Anxious Masuka, Zimbabwe’s Minister of Lands, Agriculture, Water, Fisheries, and Rural Development, has been named the Best World Minister at the World Government Summit in Dubai.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum presented out the prestigious award at a ceremony, as the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai.

The prestigious recognition exists within a worldwide program dedicated to honoring revolutionary governance practices.

The summit recognizes excellence across five categories, including the Best Minister in the World Award, Innovative Government Solutions Award, Global Best Government Applications Award, Global Government Excellence Award, and the Best Teacher in the World Award.

Dr. Masuka’s recognition underscores Zimbabwe’s commitment to sustainable development, particularly in agriculture and rural transformation, which have been key priorities under his leadership.

A track record of excellence in agriculture

Dr. Masuka is no stranger to receiving high-profile accolades. Last year, he was recognized by President Emmerson Mnangagwa as Zimbabwe’s Best Performing Minister for the second consecutive year.

Through his leadership, the government operates successfully in creating and executing strategies for food security, climate resilience measures and rural development.

Under his guidance, Zimbabwe has expanded its agricultural initiatives, including sustainable farming programs aimed at improving food production and supporting local farmers in the face of climate change.

According to ZBC News, his work has been crucial in helping the country mitigate the impact of droughts and other environmental challenges.

The award not only highlights his policy-driven approach but also acknowledges the government’s commitment to improving livelihoods through innovative and inclusive solutions.

Global recognition for Zimbabwe’s agricultural success

Under President Mnangagwa, Zimbabwe’s Second Republic, agricultural reform stands as the leading factor to drive economic growth in Zimbabwe.

As the leader of Zimbabwean agriculture, Dr. Masuka has implemented Pfumvudza/Intwasa policies, irrigation development and rural agricultural training, which both supports food security and strengthens small-scale farmers.

The international recognition demonstrates that Zimbabwe’s agricultural strategies create substantial global influence towards food protection debates, national and rural production methods.
