Mnangagwa Urges Ministers to Advance Inclusive Development

Zimbabwe’s leader calls for grassroots-focused progress and economic growth

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has urged ministers of state for provincial affairs and devolution to take an active role in implementing Zimbabwe’s inclusive development agenda.

Speaking at State House in Harare, he reminded government officials of their responsibility to drive economic transformation across all provinces.

During the meeting, Mnangagwa emphasized that the Second Republic’s policies aim to end regional economic disparities and create equal opportunities for all Zimbabweans.

He stressed that hesitation and inaction were not acceptable in his administration, urging leaders to be proactive in addressing challenges.

“This meeting allows us to assess the progress made under the Devolution and Decentralization Policy, a key pillar of the Second Republic.

Our goal is to promote equal development and participatory governance that leaves no one behind,” Mnangagwa said.

Ministers urged to lead people-centered projects

Mnangagwa called on provincial ministers to spearhead projects that improve the quality of life for Zimbabweans.

According to ZBC News, he emphasized the importance of industrialization and modernization at the district and community levels, highlighting the need for strong leadership.

“As ministers, you must take the lead in driving industrialization and modernization within your regions.

The central government will support your efforts, but you must be at the forefront of championing development,” he said.

The President stated that progress evaluation needs to focus on concrete improvements experienced by people while asking leaders to connect directly with communities to generate meaningful results.

Government officials pledge support for development initiatives

The meeting was attended by Vice President Constantino Chiwenga, Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Dr. Martin Rushwaya, Deputy Chief Secretaries, and other senior government officials.

Officials established plans to speed up developmental progress in every province while making a promise that government policies would become tangible advantages for the people.

Mnangagwa demonstrated his devotion to inclusive growth by making a promise to keep supporting initiatives which advance economic opportunities for both rural and urban areas.
