The president highlighted Zimbabwe’s agricultural sector improvements which will lead to 6 percent growth in the coming year because of favorable harvest conditions.

The country follows its roadmap towards an upper-middle-income destination by 2030.

Additionally, the president shared details about programs which support rural communities through the establishment of village business units and nutritional gardens.

These initiatives are expected to benefit 35,000 villages with borehole sinking projects under the rural industrialisation agenda.

“Through these efforts, we aim to improve incomes and living standards for our grassroots communities while contributing to global food security,” Mnangagwa said.

Zimbabwe seeks international partnerships

The president invited foreign diplomats to partner with Zimbabwe’s agriculture transformation strategy and village business unit concept, particularly in areas like training, capacity building, and market-driven productivity.

According to ZBC News, he also emphasized the need for investments in climate change mitigation projects, including dam construction, water conveyancing, and irrigation schemes.

Mnangagwa urged the diplomats to actively participate in the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF), scheduled for April 21-26, 2025, in Bulawayo.

This event, he said, would provide a platform for strengthening trade relations and increasing investments in the country. “We invite your countries to join us in expanding trade and investments,” he said.
