Nelson Chamisa, the former head of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), has declared that his return is guided by divine inspiration and has plans to make a significant political comeback.
Chamisa informed both supporters and detractors that his vision for Zimbabwe is based on spiritual revelation and is characterized by peace and reform.
Chamisa denounced the present administration at a recent rally in Masvingo province, claiming that it maintains power by corruption and violence.
He accused President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s regime of rampant violations, and his remarks alluded to this.
Inspired by the heritage of the late Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) leader Morgan Tsvangirai, Chamisa said that his opposition to the current regime is morally sound and resilient.
Divine call for clean leadership
According to Chamisa, a spiritual awakening that directs his strategy is the source of his dedication to a bloodless revolution.
He underlined the necessity for a leader with “clean hands,” contending that Zimbabwe can only be successfully rebuilt through a moral revolution.
Chamisa stated that honesty and nonviolence would be the cornerstones of his leadership path. “God wants Zimbabwe to be built by clean hands, not people who spill blood or exploit power,” he remarked.
Chamisa thinks his comeback to Zimbabwean politics will boost trust in the government, especially as he advocates for a nonviolent, principles-based strategy.
He maintained that despite his capacity to organize large-scale demonstrations, he is still dedicated to exercising strategic patience.
Critique of the current administration
Chamisa was unreserved in his criticism of the current government, claiming that it targets opposition leaders and has recently detained Amos Chibaya and Jameson Timba.
He asserted that people who imprison others are expressing their own fear, and that these arrests are evidence of the ruling party’s nervousness.
“The current rulers are in their twilight and should prepare for an inevitable exit,” Chamisa said, stating that Zimbabwe is eager to undergo democratic change
Chamisa stated that he is forming partnerships both domestically and abroad to promote his vision for Zimbabwe, expressing optimism that change is imminent.
According to New Zimbabwe, he reaffirmed his vow to abstain from violence while acknowledging the difficulties facing Zimbabwe’s peaceful political opposition.
Allegations of corruption in opposition politics
Chamisa also expressed his disappointments with some fellow opposition political leaders, to the extent of accusing them of using activism for personal monetary gains.
He alienated himself from those with a tendency of making money by exploiting the people and called for dedication to the service of people in Zimbabwe’s politics.
Furthermore, to show that he is geared for his political comeback, Chamisa declared that he is not worried about charges or detentions as he prepares for the peaceful transfer of power for Zimbabwe.
