Zimbabwe honors individuals for preserving independence legacy
The awards, called the Legacy Empowerment Awards, honor efforts in a variety of disciplines, including politics, business, and the arts. The honorees have shown a dedication to improving their communities and society at large, according to the organizers.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa stated that honoring exceptional accomplishments contributes to the preservation of Zimbabwe’s history and the memory of its struggle for independence in a speech delivered on his behalf by Charles Tavengwa, Minister of Harare Provincial Affairs and Devolution.
Mnangagwa stated, “We are gathered to honor the outstanding people who have dedicated their lives to preserving and furthering the legacy of the liberation struggle that gave rise to Zanu PF.”
“We honor their remarkable accomplishments and acknowledge their unwavering commitment to creating a better future for all Zimbabweans.”

Vapostori leader Moses Gwarisa wins Joshua Nkomo Legacy Award
The Joshua Nkomo Patriotic Legacy Award was given to Madzibaba Moses Gwarisa, the head of Vapostori and MaZion for ED.
Gwarisa stated in a statement following the award that he was honored to be acknowledged for his support of Zimbabwe’s ruling party.
“We are grateful to God for Legacy TV’s recognition of our role in bringing people together and rallying support for President Mnangagwa and Zanu PF during the previous elections,” Gwarisa remarked.
“Zanu PF and Vapostori are one.” As indigenous churches, we will keep up our efforts to promote harmony and cooperation with the ruling party,” he continued.
