President Emmerson Mnangagwa has hailed Uebert Mudzanire, also known as Uebert Angel, his Ambassador-at-Large to Europe and the Americas, calling him “God’s mouthpiece.”

Mnangagwa praised his senior assistant, who has come under fire after being linked to a BBC documentary series called Gold Mafia, during a live broadcast of Prophet Angel’s Exodus Night event to coincide with the New Year at the Hippodrome in Harare. According to the series, there is a syndicate that smuggles gold into Zimbabwe.

According to the 82-year-old leader of the Zanu PF party, the prophet has a big impact and draws religious tourists to Zimbabwe.

“Your involvement in the crossover ceremony with Prophet Uebert Angel is a testament to God’s favor bestowed upon Zimbabwe,” Mnangagwa stated.

“A nation is privileged to host a prophet of such extraordinary height and spiritual quality, attracting nations from every continent to seek his wisdom.” This demonstrates that God has always had a hand in Zimbabwe and emphasizes His blessing on our country,” he continued.

Prophet Angel’s global appeal draws religious tourists to Zimbabwe

Mnangagwa also took advantage of the occasion to advertise Zimbabwe as a religious tourism destination, urging tourists to check out sites like Mana Pools and Victoria Falls.

As stated by New Zimbabwe, The 46-year-old British-Zimbabwean televangelist, preacher, and businessman is named Uebert Angel. In 2007, he established a Pentecostal ministry in the UK called Spirit Embassy.

The church kept Spirit Embassy as the name for the larger mission, but changed its name to the Good News Church in 2015.

Angel, well-known for his eloquent sermons and opulent lifestyle, has stated that he thinks God wants his followers to have financial success.

Following a coup in 2017, Mnangagwa controversially designated Angel as ambassador-at-large, a move that at the time caused controversy.

In addition, Angel is the leader of The Angel Organization, which manages his different commercial endeavors.
