President Emmerson Mnangagwa has reaffirmed ZANU PF’s commitment to people-centered development, stating that Zimbabwe’s rich liberation history will serve as a foundation for the nation’s progress.
Addressing the ZANU PF Politburo meeting in Harare on Wednesday, Mnangagwa highlighted how the country’s independence and sovereignty are crucial to its ongoing growth.
“Our liberation history and national heritage are instruments for development,” he said. “This has helped ZANU PF move from one success to another, ensuring Zimbabweans can express themselves as an independent, sovereign, and united people.”
The President emphasized that ZANU PF’s policies are centered on improving infrastructure, agriculture, mining, tourism, human capital development, and ICT.
According to ZBC News, he urged the party to remain committed to nation-building and ensure that development remains at the heart of ZANU PF’s agenda.
Boosting economic growth across key sectors
Mnangagwa praised the country’s economic achievements, particularly in agriculture, where a bumper harvest is expected due to favorable weather conditions.
He also commended progress in mining, tourism, ICT, and infrastructure, noting that these sectors are key to Zimbabwe’s economic modernization.
“ZANU PF will continue developing synergies to empower women and young people through various economic opportunities,” he said.
The President stressed that unity, peace, and national development should remain at the core of the party’s mission. He encouraged ZANU PF members to work together to strengthen the economy and improve the lives of ordinary Zimbabweans.
