The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has appointed 15 additional magistrates to the Harare Magistrates Court in order to lighten the pressure on its present personnel. This action is intended to greatly improve the justice delivery all throughout Zimbabwe.
JSC appoints 15 magistrates to enhance justice delivery
Chief Magistrate Vongai Guwuriro underlined that this project is a component of more general national initiatives to increase the effectiveness of the judicial system. Speaking during the swearing-in event, she remarked, “The JSC takes pride in expanding the number of magistrates and establishing new court stations, so improving access to justice.”
Reflecting the court’s dedication to gender inclusivity, twelve of the fifteen newly appointed magistrates are women; three are men.

The fresh magistrates are Moreblessing Mahaso, Nyasha Mangezi, Nyengeterai Bushu, Rufaro Musiiwa, Samantha Ruponga, Samukelisiwe Mpande, Tariro Hove, and Tendai Nyagura. Marvellous Joma, Daphne Maruta, Gillian Padzakashamba, Bentone Matope, Blessings Makaripe, Blessing Shumba, Lawrence Mubvumbi are joining them.
This deliberate hiring of more magistrates is supposed to solve long-standing problems inside the court system. It seeks to simplify court procedures, lower case backlogs, and guarantee timely application of justice. Furthermore improving citizen access to justice will be the inclusion of new magistrates, especially in formerly underprivileged areas.
As stated by New Zimbabwe, the JSC is making major progress toward its goal of enhancing Zimbabwe’s court system and therefore strengthening the rule of law by raising its judicial capability.
