During the inaugural cabinet meeting of the year convened at State House, the President emphasized the paramount importance of delivering tangible benefits for the Zimbabwean populace, highlighting it as the government’s foremost priority.

“In line with our commitment to leave no one and no place behind, I am directing you all to focus on implementing transformative programs that promote industrialization, modernization, and rural development across the country,” President Mnangagwa emphasized.

He underscored the pivotal role of infrastructure development in driving economic growth and facilitating socio-economic transformation. Specific emphasis was placed on critical infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing connectivity, facilitating trade, and fostering economic development nationwide.

Among the key projects highlighted by the President were the modernization of Forbes Border Post, the construction of the Harare-Chirundu highway and Harare-Kanyemba Road, the Tugwi-Mukosi control tunnel, and the recapitalization of the National Railways of Zimbabwe.

These infrastructure initiatives are poised to play a pivotal role in boosting Zimbabwe’s economic resilience, improving transportation networks, and enhancing trade facilitation both domestically and internationally.

President Mnangagwa’s directives underscore the government’s unwavering commitment to advancing Zimbabwe’s socio-economic agenda and fostering inclusive development across all sectors. By aligning Ministerial programs with the objectives outlined in NDS1, the government aims to drive sustainable growth, create employment opportunities, and improve the standard of living for all Zimbabweans.

Furthermore, the President emphasized the importance of effective implementation and monitoring mechanisms to ensure the successful execution of these transformative programs. He called upon Ministers to demonstrate dedication, accountability, and efficiency in the execution of their respective portfolios.

The President’s call for alignment with NDS1 reflects a strategic approach to addressing Zimbabwe’s development challenges and harnessing the country’s potential for economic growth and prosperity. By prioritizing key sectors such as infrastructure, industrialization, and rural development, the government aims to lay a solid foundation for sustainable and inclusive growth.

As Zimbabwe embarks on this journey of economic transformation, collaboration between government ministries, private sector stakeholders, and civil society will be crucial. By working together towards common goals, Zimbabwe can overcome challenges, unlock opportunities, and realize its full potential as a thriving and prosperous nation.

In conclusion, President Mnangagwa’s directives serve as a rallying call for collective action and commitment towards advancing Zimbabwe’s development agenda. Through concerted efforts, Zimbabwe can build a brighter and more prosperous future for all its citizens.
