Mashonaland East Province citizens have received assurances from the Zimbabwean government that as the nation advances its economic program, peace and security will continue to be given first priority.
Government pledges continued peace in Mashonaland East
State Security Minister Owen Ncube stated during a provincial security engagement in Marondera that the government is still dedicated to defending the nation’s sovereignty and shielding its citizens from dangers to its stability.
Ncube stated, “Our government still views peace and stability as the cornerstone of national progress.” “We will continue to be vigilant in protecting the benefits of our independence and making sure our people are fearless.”
Traditional leaders, political party representatives, and provincial heads of government ministries were among the security stakeholders the minister spoke to. He urged all sectors to put national interests ahead of partisan disputes and stressed togetherness.
Ncube cautioned against people who want to undermine the nation by spreading false information and engaging in subversive operations, characterizing such endeavors as being at odds with national goals.
He declared, “We will not hesitate to act against anyone working against peace and the national interest, and our intelligence systems remain alert.”
Stakeholders urged to protect peace and national unity
According to The Herald, Apolonia Munzverengi, the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Mashonaland East, also commended the joint efforts of local leadership and state security in preserving calm across the province.
Citing the nation’s long-term development plan, Munzverengi stated, “This harmony among security forces, communities, and political parties is critical for achieving Vision 2030.”
The promise was welcomed by traditional leaders and other community members, who also expressed gratitude for the government’s ongoing involvement in security-related issues.
