Egypt is moving to broaden its partnership with Zimbabwe, pledging closer cooperation across broadcasting, healthcare, and a wide range of development sectors.

The Egyptian ambassador to Zimbabwe, Salwa Mowafi, outlined Cairo’s intent during talks in Harare with Information Minister Jenfan Muswere, according to state broadcaster ZBC News, a partner of TV BRICS. The announcement adds fresh weight to ongoing diplomatic engagement between the two nations.

Egypt eyes cooperation in broadcasting sector

At the center of discussions was Egypt’s offer to expand cooperation with Zimbabwe’s public broadcasting institutions. Both parties said that technical training, sharing of experiences, and updating of media operations were very important.

Building connections beyond working together on broadcasts

The authorities also pledged to work together more closely on housing construction, healthcare, childcare, agriculture, and tourism. Water purification and infrastructure initiatives were mentioned as other areas where people could get involved in the future.

Egypt Zimbabwe cooperation; shared vision for political and economic growth

Muswere said the commitment extends beyond technical partnerships, pointing to political and economic ties as equally important. “We also seek to deepen political, economic, and technical cooperation in infrastructure, housing, health, agriculture, tourism, and modernization of our public broadcasting institutions,” he said.
