Police continue to seek Blessed Geza, who is in hiding.
The case of Blessed Mhlanga, the head of news at Heart & Soul TV, has been postponed to April 30, 2025, due to the absence of a key witness’ statement.
Mhlanga, who faces charges of inciting violence, had hoped for progress in his case, but the delay left many unanswered questions. The court confirmed that investigations would be completed by the time of the next hearing.
The postponement is an inconvenience to Mhlanga’s defence, which will now receive the State papers on April 30. At that time, a trial date will be set. This will allow the legal process to continue, albeit at a slower pace than originally expected.
Charges against Mhlanga
Mhlanga was arrested in February and charged with incitement to violence after interviewing Blessed “Bombshell” Geza, a war veteran who publicly criticized the ED2030 agenda.
The agenda aims to extend President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s term until 2030. The charges stemmed from the interview, which allegedly contributed to public unrest.
Geza, a key figure in the controversy, has since gone into hiding. Police are seeking him for questioning on multiple charges, including inciting public violence, undermining the authority of the President, and theft of three vehicles.
Legal proceedings and next steps
The defence will receive the State’s papers during the next scheduled hearing. This will allow both sides to prepare for the continuation of the case. The delay is a reminder of the slow-moving nature of high-profile legal cases, especially those involving sensitive political issues.
