Mashonaland East, Zimbabwe – Zanu PF, Zimbabwe’s ruling party, held a “Thank You Rally” in Murehwa to celebrate their victory in the Mashonaland East province. The rally, led by Zanu PF provincial chairman Cde Daniel Garwe, who is also the MP for Murehwa North constituency, served as a platform to thank supporters and urge continued unity for the party and the nation.
Cde Garwe emphasized the importance of moving forward after the elections, stating, “Elections are now over, and I urge the people to remain united and maintain the resounding winning attitude.” He highlighted the need for continued dedication to the party and President Mnangagwa’s vision for Zimbabwe’s future.
The rally underscored the growing popularity of President Mnangagwa’s Vision 2030 agenda, a strategic framework aiming to transform Zimbabwe into an upper-middle-income economy by 2030. Cde Garwe specifically mentioned the enthusiasm of young people towards the vision, crediting them for the popular slogan “2030 VaMnangagwa vanenge vachipo” (translated: “May Mnangagwa be alive in 2030”).
“This is a prayer started by youths and is now popular across the nation,” explained Cde Garwe. “We will not cease praying for the fulfillment of this prayer. Let us also pray for ourselves and our families so that we can all be there in 2030 to witness the fulfillment of this Vision.”
The rally also saw the reinstatement of Cde Israel Maliki as the Murehwa DCC chairman. This move signals Zanu PF’s focus on strengthening its leadership structure within the province.
Zanu PF’s Commitment to Unity and Development
Cde Garwe’s message throughout the rally emphasized unity and hard work as key drivers for achieving Zanu PF’s goals. He cautioned against complacency and urged supporters to remain vigilant against forces that might seek to divide the party.
The rally highlighted Zanu PF’s commitment to its core values and its dedication to fulfilling President Mnangagwa’s Vision 2030. The party’s focus on youth engagement and continued development efforts in Mashonaland East are likely to remain central themes moving forward.
The “Thank You Rally” serves as a glimpse into Zanu PF’s strategy for consolidating its position in Mashonaland East and maintaining national support. The party’s emphasis on unity, adherence to President Mnangagwa’s vision, and engagement with young people will be crucial factors in determining its success in the coming years.
With Zimbabwe aiming to achieve upper-middle-income status by 2030, Zanu PF’s ability to effectively implement its development plans and garner continued public support will be closely monitored. The party’s performance in Mashonaland East, a key political and economic region, is likely to be a bellwether for its success nationwide.
